We learn to be flexible, to grow our skills and teach ourselves what we need to know in order to get on with our day-to-day business.
Sometimes we have to relearn a skill learned in childhood, like writing. Most people first learned to "write" when they were in grade school, now with the computer age anyone can write and self-publish their own materials.
This is commendable, but what about the quality of the writing? One crucial step many small business owners fail to make is to edit their work several times. If one hasn't gone through a professional writing class or two, perhaps the writer can even use another set of eyes to review their work.
And I don't mean your best friend, unless they happen to be a professional editor! Sure anyone can "write", but to write well, you have to understand a bit about putting together sentences, paragraphs and longer constructions, like an article or full length paper. And, you absolutely should revise your article more than once.
In order to write all the copy that is necessary in a business; ad copy, sales letters, instructions on how to use the product and informative articles, business owners should consider either using professional editing services or should take a class or two on the basics of writing, rather than consider their first or second draft the final copy.
I am offering a writer's workshop on my business website, where you can have your material professionally edited, including specific notes on your problem writing areas and "How To" articles about writing for publication for only $24.00 per year.
